The statement issued by the Syrian Democratic Council on the agreement signed between Commander Mazloum Abdi and President Ahmed Al-Sharaa
At a pivotal moment in Syria’s history, and in the spirit of national responsibility, an agreement was signed between the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and President Ahmed Al-Shara, to be an essential step towards building a new Syria, a pluralistic democratic state that respects the rights of all its components and is based on a constitution that expresses the will of Syrians and establishes a modern republic commensurate with the aspirations and sacrifices of the Syrian people.
This agreement reflects the urgent need for a phase based on national partnership, mutual recognition and political justice, where all Syrians, without exception, have the right to self-determination through genuine political participation that guarantees equality, dignity and fundamental freedoms.
We, in the Syrian Democratic Council, as we bless this agreement as a step towards a political solution, affirm that its success depends on the extent to which all parties are committed to the spirit of real change and work to build a modern democratic state that respects the will of its people, achieves their aspirations, and is part of a free world that believes in justice and human rights.
Syria for all Syrians is a democratic, pluralistic and decentralized state, worthy of the sacrifices of its people, and taking its civilized and humanitarian place among nations.
