The Turkish occupation systematically targets infrastructure in northeastern Syria

Once again, the livelihoods of civilians in northern and eastern Syria are under the fire of the Turkish occupation, whose drones launched several strikes on factories, farms, water and electricity stations, and residential areas in Hasakah, Amudah, Qamishli, Malikiyah, Derik and Kobani.

The shelling, which also targeted civilian cars and the Washokani camp for forcibly displaced persons from occupied Ras al-Ain Serekaniye, resulted in a number of civilian casualties, and focused on vital facilities, including the Hamma station used to filter drinking water coming to the city of Al-Hasakah from the Alouk station, after it was rehabilitated by local and international organizations, including the United States Agency for International Development and UNICEF.

The Turkish occupation Drons also targeted oil fields in the eastern countryside of Qamishli, and the area of Al-Jawadiya Dam Jal Agha in the same area, and the shelling also affected the vicinity of a water conversion station in the countryside of Tal Tamr, the village of Tal Habash, which is inhabited by civilians in the countryside of Amudah, and the village of the countryside of the Sarrin district of Kobani, northeastern Syria.

According to observers, the indiscriminate attacks of the Turkish occupation Drones on civilian areas and infrastructure come within the framework of a systematic plan to destroy the livelihoods of civilians and forcibly displace them from their areas, with the aim of facilitating their control and changing their demography to serve Ankara’s expansionist agendas in the region.

According to international covenants and conventions, deliberately attacking civilians and targeting vital infrastructure necessary for their survival are war crimes and crimes against humanity, which reveals the true face of the Turkish occupation, which seeks to exterminate and destroy the peoples of northeastern Syria.
