The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) held the periodic coordination meeting on Monday. The meeting focused on assessing the latest political and military developments in Syria and the broader region. Additionally, it addressed the progress of the ongoing dialogue with Syria’s new administration in Damascus.
During the meeting, the field and political situations in the country were discussed. Also, discussions centered on the critical need for enhanced security and political stability, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing the region. The importance of continuing dialogue with the new administration was emphasized. Moreover, there was a strong focus on the need to achieve tangible results that contribute to resolving outstanding issues and ensuring the rights and interests of all Syrian communities.
The attendees agreed to intensify efforts to hold a series of local meetings in various cities and towns across northern and eastern Syria. This aims to involve all community groups in the political process and ensure that the outcomes of the dialogue reflect the will of all communities of the region.
In this context, the participants in the meeting affirmed their commitment to the success of this dialogue by finding solutions to the specific issues under discussion. This includes reaching agreements on appropriate implementation mechanisms, such as the integration of military and administrative institutions. They stressed the need to identify suitable tools to achieve understandings on these matters.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the issue of a ceasefire, considering it a necessary step to ensure the progress of the dialogue. They emphasized that achieving field stability contributes to creating a conducive environment for continuing political discussions and reaching constructive agreements.
