MSD meets German parliamentarians in Berlin.

A delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) met with a number of important political figures in the German parliament in the German capital, Berlin, with the aim of strengthening diplomatic relations and discussing the Syrian issue and the path of a political solution.

  The SDF delegation included Hassan Muhammad Ali, head of the relations office and member of the executive body, and the representative of the Syrian Democratic Council in Germany and the Netherlands, Dr Rizgar Qassem, where they met with a group of parliamentary members from the Green Party blocs (GRUEN), the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) and the German left.

The meeting was held with Christian Democrat (CDU) foreign policy spokesman Jörken Hardt and Dr Carsten Wielland, an expert on North Africa and the Middle East.

The other meeting was with members of the German left, Ms. Svim Dagden, and members of the Green Party and Member of Parliament, Max Lux.

The meetings dealt with a variety of issues related to Syria, the paths of a political solution and the situation in the different Syrian regions.

The SDF delegation stressed Germany’s role in pushing for a political solution through its European weight in supporting the path of dialogue between Syrians and their democratic forces, in order to resolve the crisis in the country and build a new Syria.

At the end of the meetings, the importance of strengthening communication and continuous relations between the MSD representation and the participating parliamentary blocs was stressed, through the MSD representation in Germany and the Netherlands, and stressed the need for concerted efforts by democrats to achieve a democratic transition process in Syria.
